I am a Spanish teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg School in Charlotte, North Carolina. In my 15 years of teaching Spanish, I have taught all levels K-12 and love learning from and sharing with other language teachers. This year I will be teaching Middle School for the first time in awhile, and I hope to actively blog my new adventure here, so please feel free to join me! I also have posts published on path2proficiency.com. I highly recommend you read the amazing things that the teachers on P2P are blogging about. There are a bunch of fantastic teachers sharing really great insights over there. The majority of my activities here are for Novice-Intermediate learners, but I believe that the things I do can be adapted up for higher levels. Right now I'm working on a collection of photos that I took in Spain that I hope will be helpful for using as authentic resources. I've been using them in my classes to help generate conversation and vocabulary in the beginning of the unit, as a way to see what students already know. There are 4 collections: Food & Health, Childhood & School, City Places & Stores, and Signs & Advertisements on the Authentic Resources page of this site. I hope you find something helpful here for your own language journey. Please feel free to comment and share!
